The Resiliency of an Open Mesh Topology
The ClearMesh 300™ nodes integrate wireless optical transmission with mesh networking capability based on open LAN switching standards.
A ClearMesh network can consist of hundreds of CM 300™ nodes, and is managed from a central NOC location with the carrier-class ClearMesh Management System (CMS). The CMS provides scalable element management support for large deployments, as well as mesh oriented end-to-end monitoring, diagnostics and configuration capabilities making for easy "over-the-air" operation of an entire Metro Grid or Sentry Grid.
There are several inherent advantages of an open mesh-based network architecture:
| |
Flexible end-to-end path selection provides service resiliency |
| |
|
Extensible across external LAN switching elements |
| |
On-demand extension of the mesh infrastructure as customers sign up |
| |
|
Pay-as-you-grow business paradigm |
| |
Seamless integration with service provider networks and end-to-end services |
